Industries:

Fishing and seafood, and accommodating passing ships, are the primary businesses in Race-on-Sea. It is a popular summer destination for vacationers looking for cooler air and beaches without as many beachgoers in the cool water.

Common Architecture:

The buildings of Race-on-Sea are a combination of several styles which together form an ornate landscape across the hills. These resemble popular greek revival, georgian and victorian designs. Just about any material imaginable is used in some of these constructions, however wood tends to be the dominant material. Many homes are ornate and colorful, with carved railings, dentalwork, turrets, spires, finials and all manner of other purely decorative addition to their design.

Industrial and pierside buildings are somewhat less ornate, yet still occasionally have some of these features.

Terrain & Geography:

A low lying but hilly coastal area, there are beaches and rocky areas along the coastline, and several inlets and marinas. In the distance mountains can be seen in any direction that doesn’t have the sea on the horizon.
