Summary:

These two cities are very similar in appearance and lifestyle. It is a common joke that the two are actually one city divided by the bay.

Both are port cities where boats and ships are abundant and several marinas support the smaller boats. Beaches, luxury lodging and abundant restaurants on both sides of the bay attract tourists from the north and from Pittston. Despite rather humble appearances, the trade taxes, ferry fees and tourist industry revenues bring great wealth to these cities and the shoreline and tourist areas are often ornately decorated.

In Ale’s Ferry, the docks and waterfront area are lit by electricity generated by a coal fired plant near the docks.

Ale’s Ferry is approximately 310 km from Farn’s Tavern, Hull is 190km from Chelyekburg and 600km from Race-on-Sea. The distance between the twin cities is nearly 170km. Depending on which ferry company is used, this can mean a direct trip or two roughly 70km ferry trips connected by a land crossing on an island in the center of the bay which has been turned into a beach destination with restaurants, sandy beaches and amusements.

Industries:

Tourism & Transportation dominate the revenues of both cities. Each have active trade ports, tourists arrive from around Materia on ships, travelers by ship and road all stop in both cities to rest, dine, change travel method, and sometimes sell their wares. Shops and restaurants closer to the waterfront cater to tourists more than locals.

Common Architecture:

Construction in both cities is primarily stone or brick structures coated with plasters and painted in bright colors.

Terrain & Geography:

Ale’s Ferry is constructed on the slopes of the mountain foothills, offering a panoramic view of the bay from the upper structures. Hull, in contrast, rests on a relatively level area lined with long, sandy beaches and surrounded by forest.
