Security & Containment

Team Meetings & Assignments Daily
Shift 1 6AM, Shift 2 2PM, Shift 3 10pm

As its name implies, the Security & Containment Division is responsible for keeping the people and facilities of the SCGC safe and secure. The Panadera team handles all physical security around the complex and docks, investigations into potential data leaks as well as the restraining, tranquilization and capture of assets across the island when necessary. Our team consists of specialists in their fields including former SWAT, police detectives and military personnel.

Keeping You Safe

The island’s Security team operates out of several facilities across the complex: A main office across from the Fleet Management yard, an office in building A, another in the residential complex and one office at each gate and dock tunnel portal.

Most operations include ensuring that the gates and dock remain secure from entry by biological assets and unauthorized personnel, resolving domestic and safety incidents and investigating potential security leaks and vulnerabilities. On occasion the security team is needed to investigate rare internal losses and thefts from personnel and mall shops.

Expertise and Skill For Our Mission

The advanced tactical skills brought to our team by our former SWAT and Military specialists provide our science divisions with an invaluable partner in our unique ventures. Together we work with the labs and observation teams to ensure their safety as biological assets and hazardous materials are studied and transported throughout the complex and across the island.

In addition we are ready and able to subdue any aggressive assets and to provide immediate rescue operations at any point on the island for stranded personnel.

Asset management monitors location of assets and asset density within each of the above grid locations.

Monitoring Monsters

Along with the Behavioral Studies Department, Asset Containment officers constantly monitor the location of biological assets on the island as well as company equipment and vehicles through the use of GPS tracking systems. Automatic alerts ensure that security personnel are on standby for emergencies if vehicles or personnel transmitters come within a certain radius of transmitters belonging to potentially hazardous assets.

One model of tracking implant.

Every biological asset released from containment onto the island is implanted with a patented dual- or tri-function microchip which is contained within an impact and heat resistant resin casing and embedded into an artificially created pocket within the primary artery of the leg. All chips include a refillable vial containing an adequate dose of tranquilizer for that asset body mass as well as an electronic pulse generator. Larger chips also include a single burst charge taser probe. Security and Asset Containment are able to remotely activate any asset implant chip to activate the electrical spike or tranquilizer or both when necessary. Both features are designed to cause immediate loss of control of the affected area of the body normally including one leg followed by unconsciousness within seven seconds. Any activation requires treatment by veterinary staff to recharge the spent tranquilizer or battery.

The electronic pulse generator in every chip does not activate unless the receiver loses contact with a signal being transmitted across the island by multiple beacons. Any asset straying beyond the island’s borders will begin to feel a growing pain until they return to the island or staff capture and relocate the asset. This is most useful with semi aquatic and airborne species.

Doing What It Takes

SCGC personnel and their families are our company’s greatest asset. For this reason, our Security team is equipped for both non-lethal and lethal handling of assets. No matter the investment in an experiment our people’s lives will always come first! This is why SCGC is the only paleogenetics operation which is able to claim 0 asset related personnel fatalities!
