Maple White Facility
Paleogenetics Division “Alpha Site”

THIS FACILITY HAS BEEN CLOSED

Maple White Complex, the original field research center of the Summerlee-Challenger Genetics Corporation, was constructed by the SCGC in 1942. This facility incorporated several structures of steel and brick with an art-deco design and at its center a high rise structure constructed as a link between the amazonian rainforest floor and the plateau upon which Drs. Summerlee and Challenger first explored in 1908.

This plateau had served as the last location on earth where living dinosaurs could be found without human involvement, and provided researchers with access to several species including Iguanadon, Triceratops, Ceratosaurus, and Baryonyx. Unforseen natural conditions in the late 1990s and early 2000s forced the aging facility to be declared unsuitable for repair and interrupted the natural reproduction and ecosystem of the dinosaurs original and supplanted by the company onto the plateau.

In spring of 2012, the final employee and asset transfers were completed and the facility was officially closed as a condemned complex. The Brazilian Government requested that the structures be left intact for natural reclamation studies and potential filming locations for foreign film project revenues.
