A rather small sauropod, Mussaurus (Mouse lizard) is named for the small size of infant fossils found. It shares the appearance of other members of the order of Sauropods, but is much smaller than its larger cousins, standing shorter than a human while other sauropods tower above them.

Mussaurus dine on low vegetation and freshly fallen foliage. They are able to work their way into the undergrowth of forested areas unlike the larger sauropods.
