We call our server staff a council. Each member has a role in story operations.

Server Leaders

Founder – Dragon Alpha, user Ahgjan

As creator of the server, Ahgjan leads the overall direction of the server, but puts much of his focus on the wild dragon colony on the island and territories abroad.

Co-Lead – Viking Chieftess and Fireworm Queen, user NoiNoiNoivern

Noi takes the lead on much of the server activity in general, as chieftess Helga Unn leads the goings-on of the viking village, and as the fireworm queen Alsanna she keeps an eye on the dragons and controls the far side of the island.

Server Council

The following positions can be earned through a series of challenges. If a position you are interested in is open, inquire with the council to learn how to apply. All positions are both server positions AND in-story viking positions.

Defense Councilor – Position Open

In the village, this individual’s character works with the chieftess to develop war strategy, oversee training, patrols, island defenses, and maintains inventory of village weapons.

Outside of character, this person understands the plans for the server arcs and enemies. They help to plan combat and war RP stories, develop and play as minor NPC villains, and lead combat RPs.

Village Treasurer – Position Open

In the village, this individual is responsible for the island’s inventory of coin and goods and manages village welfare programs. They keep a census of the population, purchase and order goods from traders, ensure supplies for feasts and emergencies, and collects taxes of money or goods from villagers.

Outside of character, this person encourages, develops, and leads roleplays involving community interaction. These include communal meals, events, feasts, and other parties. They also will do the same for stories involving collection, storage, and distribution of goods.

Labor Councilor – Position Open

On and around the island, this individual’s character is responsible for keeping every villager employed. They oversee all construction and raw material production on behalf of the chieftess, ensuring there is enough supply to keep up with local and trade demand. They also work with the Chieftess and ambassador to seek out individuals suited to fill necessary jobs in the community.

Outside of character, this person starts and leads stories related to these tasks within the village. They also help members decide jobs and responsibilities for their new characters that will be helpful to the community and allow for more story involvement.

Commerce Councilor – Position Open

In the village, this individual’s character sets policy for and oversees incoming and outgoing trade for the village. They also oversee business and shops in the village, partners with the ambassador for trade agreements with allies, inspects ships of new traders before they are allowed to dock, manages trade routes of island based ships, and collects the dock and selling fees from visiting traders.

Outside of character, this person promotes and guides the creation of trader characters and stories taking place beyond Dragon’s Rest along with the Ambassador. They also promote marketplace related stories on the island.

Ambassador – Position Open

In the roleplays, this character is responsible for policies related with interaction with other Brutish villages and other nations. They understand the Chieftess’ intentions well enough to meet with and make agreements with others on her behalf.

Outside of character, this person understands the server long term plans for interaction with the surrounding lands. They promote, begin, and lead stories taking place beyond the island. They create and play NPC characters for members to interact with beyond the island.

Chieftess’ Aide – Position Open

In the village this person is the closest thing to a friend the chieftess keeps around herself. They are trusted and follow her around the village taking notes and passing on instructions based on her wishes. This person is intelligent enough to provide council and advice and at times will be expected to speak on her behalf. They may also provide personal assistance when needed.

Outside of character, this person helps the server leaders keep track of server goals, encourages and assists members with character creation, and take part in stories set within the village. They also are expected to be active in most stories involving the chieftess Helga.

Councilor of Dragon Affairs – Position Open

This member of the village is responsible for overseeing the in-village interaction between humans and dragons. They develop new amenities for dragons in and around the village, ensure new construction takes dragons into account, makes sure the treasury procures enough supplies for dragons and promotes the idea of a dragon and rider bond through dragonrider specific activities and recognition. They also work with the Defense Councilor to plan dragon rider training.

Outside of character, this person helps to foster dragon and rider bonds. They help members find a dragon or rider companion and promote ways to strengthen those bonds in RP through encouraging story ideas, starting and leading dragon training stories, and can use NPC’s for this purpose. They also suggest new ways to integrate dragons into the village and promote roleplays involving interaction between wild dragons and humans in the village.

Dragon Liason – Position filled by Cole’s character named Tue Unn

This person’s character lives between the village and the wild dragon colony, and is responsible to ensure peaceful cooperation between village and colony. They relay the needs and concerns related to the wild dragons to and from the chieftess and seek immediate solutions to minor dragon issues. They also keep the dragons informed of ways they can assist the village.

Outside of character, this person helps Dragon Affairs to promote stories between wild dragons and the village. They also work with the Labor Councilor to help dragon characters find tasks in stories within the village.
